K: What did you think before coming into the purpose-breakfast meetup?
A: The description was pretty open and I just wanted to go and see what it would look like. It was useful because it was a new experience and exploration to try something new.
K: How did the meetup feel for you?
A: It was nice that we were encouraged to try different things and see what we’d like to do - a sense of exploration and trying. Some things I liked, some things felt more socially awkward and outside my comfort zone. However, they all felt like meaningful experiences.
K: Any moment you particularly enjoyed a lot?
A: Writing the stories and telling them, that was kind of fun. It was something you would imagine only kids do, right? But then you do it yourself and it’s kind of fun, it doesn’t matter how old you are.
K: What was it to be at the meetup?
A: It was fun to meet new people that I wouldn’t normally meet. In general, I liked this openness that you have no expectations about each other and that you could meet and learn and hear about their stories and who they are. ( ͡❛ ͜ʖ ͡❛)
I don’t know many people in the Netherlands and there I could meet a diverse group of people, to see what kind of people there are outside of university since most people I know are on campus and a couple of friends from before coming to Tilburg
K: What have you taken away from the event?
A: I felt really grateful to myself for going there. This has stayed with me and I feel I want to try more of these things, even when it feels a bit awkward before going there, with this feeling of not knowing what to expect, this uncertainty.
It was definitely worth it.
